Royalty Free Credits!

I am dedicating this blog post to crediting the royalty free effects I used in the film opening (and also to prove my innocence as to using completely royalty free effects!) First off, the gunshot sound effect I used at the end of the opening is from  zapsplat.com  I have a picture of their license requirements at the bottom. Sound effects obtained from zapsplat.com Second, the VCR green screen over lay effect is from YouTube and titled as [REAL AND FREE VIDEO] PANASONIC VHS DISPLAY  LOGOS AND GLITCHES WITH GREEN SCREEN BACKROUND from user RIVER RIVERNET. Thank you! YouTube Finally, the Score is from killertracks.com and is royalty free as well. The song is called Chaos of Thought by Leonard Morgan Thanks  killertracks.com  !

Creative Decisions- Justified:)

This is gonna be a long one.... This blog post will be all about my creative decisions within the movie and their justifications in my mind. Camera placement and shooting The camera was obviously handheld by the actors for the duration of filming, and I gave them some slight leeway to do as they saw fit with the angles. If they did anything I didn't approve of, we did another take and I gave them some pointers. Most of the shots, with the exception of one, were filmed in landscape rather than portrait mode. Portrait mode gave a little variation, and I was able to play around with the shot in editing. I rotated the clip so it is seen sideways, sort of like a dutch angle to imply the madness and chaos to come later. Editing On the cutting room floor, I got my creative juices flowing. I decided to use a VCR overlay throughout the entire opening to emphasize the homemade footage aspect as well as the early 2000s time frame. The Pauses and Plays and Stops are at different times,

Finished Filming

I FINISHED FILMING LAST NIGHT!!! I had a lot of fun filming with my actors. We did a couple of different takes for every scene just to ensure I got the right emotion I wanted. Not only that, but Idy and Christian (the actors) were splendid! The real life couple in them definitely came out on video, sort of like Angelina and Brad and Mr and Mrs Smith! We filmed starting at around 9 pm at Weston Regional Park in our town and ended at about 10:30. While filming the death scene, I had Idy scream, and there was a cop car a few lots down and we had to ensure him we were okay! Filming a shooting scene with a Police officer present... talk about a paradox. Now that I have finished filming, I can start editing and then my CCR! I'm really looking forward to spending some quality time with my computer over the next few days to make this film the best it can be. That's all for now!

filming delayed

I just got word from my friend/choreographer that her and her husband can't film tonight because he isn't available. But she said they were definitely free tomorrow night. This might work out better because I will have more time tomorrow night, and the following day i don't have to be in school until 9:30. You have to work!

Script Rewrites

These are my rewrites! We will be filming in the Weston Regional Park on Sunday night, so I had to change some of the little scenes to fit the park setting more. Anyway, I sort of like this new ending clip better than the other one. As Long As We Both Shall Live Into Camera First black, and then we see Girl and Boy Girl We’re engaged! I can’t believe it Boy Believe it. I love you. Girl I love you more. Black Then another camera video In a dark parking lot Girl Honey? Where is he… Babe its not funny, where are you? She approaches a row of cars and walks down skeptically Suddenly, Boy pops out and scares her. Girl screams but is soon overcome with laughter, like Boy. Girl AH! Jesus, babe! Begins to laugh uncontrollably Boy goes in for a hug and covers camera. We see black Next shot On couch. Boy holds camera facing Girl. She is crying watching a video on her phone. He finds this hilarious. Girl It’s not funny! Boy

4/3/18- Hypothetical questions

I have just confirmed with my actors what day I will be able to have them for filming. Well, night rather. On Sunday night we will film the primary scenes at different places, most likely the baseball field and then a house. Having them for one day will mean I will have to do a few script rewrites but the general overview and feeling will be the same. Working around an actors schedule is really tough, because that means that a filmmaker may have to compromise their vision in order to chose the correct actor to bring their character to life. This made me wonder, what would be more important to me if I have a future as a filmmaker? Having the perfect actor who brings all aspects of my character's vision to life, and is the perfect embodiment of a character, but having to change the filming schedule and in turn changing parts of the movie? Or telling the story I want to tell without fulfilled characters. What enhances the movie most? The story, or the people who are telling the

Spring Break Progress Pt. 3

I am home now. I loved my time away. I took care of myself this trip, meaning I can finally refocus onto other things now that I know I am in a good mental state. This movie will have my heart and soul poured into it.
